Managing Innovation and Knowledge – 2 Day Workshop on April 10th and11th, 2013

We are very happy to announce our first two days workshop on Innovation and Knowledge Management on April 10th and 11th, 2013.

Two workshops will be delivered each day,  a three hour morning and afternoon workshops, with lunch and refreshing networking breaks in between. These workshops will provide hands-on learning experience, in which will be presented the latest tools and techniques in Knowledge Management and Innovation Management. April 10th will focus on Innovation Management, while April 11th will be on Knowledge Management.We are very happy to announce our first two days workshop on Innovation and Knowledge Management on April 10th and 11th, 2013.

Co-creation is about collaboration. It’s about working with your customers to solve problems, and develop new products. Co-creation breaks the old NPD process of research and development, where you go back and forth between creative agencies, research agencies and your customers. Your customers are already discussing your products online. Why not use their opinions to develop new products and services? Customer idea generation means outputs are richer and more complete, and ultimately ideas move to market more quickly and cost-effectively. This workshop will provide you with an overview on how customer co- creation can help your organization develop new services and products. We teach you the different methods and tools of customer co-creation, and how to implement them in your NPD Process.

Many organizations struggle with demonstrating the benefits of KM. This is often due to the lack of a clear KM strategy definition at the early stage of a KM initiative. We believe that an emphasis should be put first on the most critical knowledge domains of a company. Knowledge criticality is often perceived in different ways by people at the operational level than by people at the strategic level, so the idea is to collect both points of view and to look for an alignment later on. This workshop will present the steps and tools allowing to first identify critical knowledge domains from different points of view and secondly to align these points of view in order to identify where KM activities are most needed.

About the Speakers

Stavros Sindakis

Dr. Stavros Sindakis is a focused and forward thinking academic and professional with substantial experience in innovation and entrepreneurship issues. He holds a PhD and has extensive teaching and research experience, including data collection, critical analysis/evaluation and concluding. Stavros has considerable experience in both business and marketing fields. As a Service Development Scientist at a big health care group in Southeast Europe, he was involved in high-level innovation and strategy development and was responsible for maintaining strong relationships with key contacts in existing accounts, as well as developing new contacts and relationships.

On the other hand, teaching has been an important part of his career, as he has teaching experience in several types of courses, including first- and second-year Marketing classes as well as postgraduate Management classes and discussion sections in the fields of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and New Product Development.

Stavros’s principal research interests lie in innovation and development of new customer-oriented services and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities in the knowledge intensive service industries. His research experience includes selecting and working with business executives in a professional setting; collecting, interpreting and presenting data. Stavros’s future research plans are to further develop the concepts of service innovation and customer orientation, and to address the limitations and the gaps that resulted from his previous work.


Christian Walter

Christian Walter is a Researcher and Lecturer at Bangkok University, IKI-SEA. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Cultural Science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is teaching Entrepreneurship and Business Model Innovation. His research interests are in the fields of business model innovation, value networks and Gamification and Creativity. He has been working as a Consultant with several organizations in Thailand, including: Essilor, PTT Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), PTT Chemicals, and Amadeus.

Dr. Vincent Ribière is the Managing Director and co-founder of the IKI-SEA. As a consultant he has worked with a number of organizations, including: Essilor, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand Exploration (PTT) and PTT Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Bayer Material Science (Rayong), PTT Chemical, Amadeus Asia, Petronas (Malaysia), the Peace Bureau (USAID) in Washington DC; Counterpart International in Washington DC; and, as CIO for EyeFlight in Washington DC. Dr. Ribière has published more than 50 publications on KM and its application. He has been working on KM for the past 13 years.

He is the Program Director of the newly created International PhD program in Knowledge and Innovation Management (KIM). He is an Associate Professor at Bangkok University‘s Graduate School, where he teaches on a variety of business topics, including: Knowledge Management, IT, Managing for Creativity, Innovation and Organizational Development; and Research Design and Methodology. Previously he has taught at the New York Institute of Technology in New York, and at the American University in Washington DC, as well as holding the position of chairman of the School of Management at the NYIT campus in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


Peter Cauwelier

Peter Cauwelier started ASIO Consulting to help teams in Thailand and South-East Asia reach excellence. He strongly believes that leadership development needs more than just training sessions to prepare leaders to deal with the complexities of a quickly changing environment. Action learning solves problems, develops leaders and builds teams, and these are the critical cornerstones of organizational strategies in the 21st century. Peter is the first action learning coach in Thailand certified by the WIAL (www.wial.org). He has more than 20 years experience in Asia and North-America, leading teams in operations: supply chain, quality, manufacturing and human resources. Peter is a Ph.D. candidate at the Knowledge and Innovation Management doctorate programme at Bangkok University (graduation 2014) and obtained an executive MBA from Boston University (2007, Beta Gamma Sigma). He is fully fluent in English, French, Dutch and Thai.
