Jeff was recently the Director of Medical and Lifesciences Product Development at King Mongkut’s University of Technology, Thonburi paired with a independent consulting position at the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand. In this role Jeff simultaneously performs human resource development training with total product development processes on a diverse range of medical and life science related products and systems.Prior to this Jeff was a senior industrial designer and research specialist at Farm Design Inc. In this role Jeff had experience managing high performing teams for total product development in the medical and medical related fields. Jeff’s previous experience includes working as a self-employed freelance industrial designer and research specialist with a number of design firms and corporations along with a position at Teradyne Inc., where as the Director of Industrial Design in this Fortune 500 Company, he created and managed the brand and product identity across global locations including Europe, Japan and Singapore. Jeff’s work in design research is based on mixed methodologies including: ergonomics / human factors, action research, user centered design, voice of the customer, ethnographic observational analysis, and market preference testing. Jeff is currently pursuing a master’s of science in Critical and Creative Thinking, with a concentration on Science and Technology in a Changing World. Here he furthers his research practice and knowledge which he applies to his career. A variety of research methods and the design of research programs for addressing large-scale, complex projects through problem based learning is the focus of the class work in this master’s program. In addition to his 15 years of traditional design experience, Jeff specializes in model building and prototyping for user evaluations and preference testing, concept development, sketching, story boarding, user centered design, and design management. Jeff has worked most notably on programs for Edwards Lifesciences, GE Healthcare, GE Lifesciences, Covidian, DePuy Mitek, Ethicon Endo, Medrad, Bayer, and Medtronic. As a consultant he did a number of transport products with Panoz Motor Sports, Segway, and Interi-Air.
